Philips AG 2102

This phonograph is made by Philips Austria.
It consists of two bakelite cases.
Tone-arm is in position to close the cover.

The metal frames are fastened directly in the bakelite casing.

The metal lever can be switched between 33 or 78 rpm.
The zero in between is a non operating position to
avoid flat surfaces in the drive wheels.
The disk is driven via the flat belt.

Produced from 1953, it could not play 45 rpm singles.
Soon Philips added this third speed and changed type to AG2110.

Testing the speed it appeared playing exactly 45 rpm,
a rubber drive sleeve was added on the shaft.
Regarding the nice fitting is seems
to be 'as delivered' or probably as option.

The tone-arm is rather fragile.
The lever beneath the arm pivot turns the suspension
underneath the metal plate, causing switch-off adjustability at record ending.
The visible switch is acting directly high voltage.

The piezo crystal was weakened and is replaced.
There are two needles on one arm activated by tilting
the cartridge via the shining knob on top of the arm.

The power plugs are changed so they fit in
the holders made in the bakelite casing.
